Project Notes
Once Cape Cod National Golf Club founder John Pfeffer acquired an additional 69 acres of land beside the 85-acre tract that he already owned, there was no stopping him. Four years later, in 1998, the course opened for play as a private 18-holer with additional access granted to guests of the neighboring Wequasset Inn.
Neatly laid out on just xxx of those acres, the routing here rivals the aesthetics and stirring shot values. Not without effort and intention, however. Silva moved three quarters of a million tons of dirt creating a golf course that lays comfortably on dramatic terrain — and looks as though it was built in the 1930s. CCN’s fescue-friendly presentation also effectively predates trendy 21st century aesthetics, which have risen to the level of fetishization.
