Project Notes

This project followed closely on the heels of Silva’s turn-of-the-century restoration of the nearby Lookout Mountain Club, originally designed by Seth Raynor… Black Creek clearly took its inspiration from the design style of Raynor and his mentor, Charles Blair Macdonald, right down to the inclusion of xx template holes — including the Redan 7th, above, and the Biarritz 17th, at left. The 10th, bottom left, is Raynor in style but nevertheless a Brian Silva original… Since opening, its many accolades include: Golfweek’s Top 100 Modern Golf Courses and Golf Digest’s Top 10 Courses in Tennessee. It also achieved a #31 ranking in Golfweek’s 2006 ”Best Residential Golf Courses in America.” Thanks, Seth.
