Project Notes
Designed by hometown Architect Seth Raynor in 1925, Southampton has flown under the radar of nearby Shinnecock Hills and The National Golf Links, among others.
In the late 1960’s, the Club underwent a bunker renovation program that buried original Raynor bunkers with so much fill that many required downhill shots to the greens they abutted.
A renovation carried out by Brian Silva in 2004 saw the course return to its original character with greens restored to their original sizes and shapes, trees removed and bunkers returned to their more original depths of play.
A few years after the renovation, the Club had Silva return to restore their Eden green and convert the Biarritz to a three level “full” Biarritz.
